About

The owner/builders of Sereno Costa are Nicole and Lauren. The property was purchased by Nicole’s parents Paul and Suzanne in 1965. Over the years the family would holiday in Red Head where they often stayed at the seaside caravan park. Frequently conversation would include, “Someday we’ll build a house on that block of land.” In 2017 Nicole and Lauren convinced Paul and Suzanne it was time to do so, ground was broken on 10th January 2018. By 21st November the final coat of paint was drying.

The build was both arduous and rewarding, providing plenty of labour for family and friends. Lauren and Nicole are grateful for all the help from: Paul and Suzanne (thanks for sharing your dream of building with us), Wayne (“we don’t need a kit home—we can build it ourselves”), Blackie (builder extraordinaire), Zachary, Lily, Adam, Sydney, Blair, Cathie, Melissa, Mark, Geoffrey, Janice, Emma, Harish, and (from the Minnesota clan) Mom/Grandma Hope, Uncle David, Dawn, Les, Erin, Jordan, and JeRae.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to their dear friend Nick, who lost the battle with cancer before he was able to help with the build. His love of life, good friends, food, and wine, and his Sicilian heritage, are the inspiration for the name Sereno Costa.
